Terms of Service

Last updated June 25, 2026

These terms govern your use of Arris, a Mac desktop database client. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Arris.

License

The Arris source code is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPL-3.0), and the full license text ships with the source. The AGPL governs your rights to use, study, modify, and redistribute the software, and the app is free to download and use. These Terms govern your use of the official Arris binaries we distribute, the arrisdb.app website and related services, and the Arris name and logo. Where these Terms conflict with the AGPL with respect to the software itself, the AGPL controls.

Acceptable use

The AGPL grants broad rights to the software. When using the official binaries we distribute and our services, you also agree not to:

Your data and connections

You are responsible for the databases you connect to, the credentials you supply, and the queries you run. Arris executes the statements you write against the sources you configure, including statements that modify or delete data. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to access those systems and for any consequences of the operations you perform. See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled.

Third-party software

Arris bundles open-source database drivers and other third-party components, each governed by its own license. Your connections also interact with third-party database systems and services that are subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party systems or their availability.

Intellectual property

The Arris software is released under the AGPL-3.0, and copyright in it remains with its authors and contributors. The Arris name and logo are our trademarks and are not licensed under the AGPL. You may not use them to brand a modified or redistributed build, or in any way that suggests endorsement or affiliation, without our permission. Nominative references, for example stating that your project is built on or compatible with Arris, are permitted.

Disclaimer of warranties

Arris is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your requirements.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising out of or relating to your use of Arris, including data loss or corruption resulting from queries you execute. The app is a tool that operates under your direction; you use it at your own risk.

Updates and availability

We may release updates, change features, or discontinue the app at any time without notice. New versions may be subject to revised terms.

Termination

These Terms remain in effect while you use the official Arris binaries or our services. You may stop using them at any time. Your rights under these Terms, including any use of the Arris name and logo, end if you breach them. Your rights in the software itself are governed by the AGPL and terminate only as provided in that license.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised "last updated" date. Continued use of Arris after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
